💫I bought my very own home on the sea where I grew up💙 and whilst the process of buying nearly cost me my sanity, a mere six months down the line, a few thousand aggy phone calls and all my life savings later I’m finally a sea side home owner, hence the slightly manic spring in my step. I LOVE YOU HOME! 💙...
💫HAPPY SUMMER SOLTICE! HAPPY INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY! I’m not hot on ‘international days’ but this ones a bit different. Yoga gets us slipping into that gap in between stimulus and response so that we don’t all fall into that robotic, weird, avatar humanoid category, and we show up for ourselves and everyone around us in the best way we possibly can! WERD! That’s what Yoga is for me…(it’s not about attempting to look like we’re all in Cirque du Soliel although I reckon I’ve probs been guilty of that on countless occasions 🤷♀️😂🤦🏽♀️.)
Yoga has kept me smiling (albeit slightly manically) through some of the most challenging times I didn’t know I’d ever have to face, and it’s given me the opportunity to make other people smile right back at me! (Most likely because they’re laughing at my mid-class impromptu dance moves) but it makes me happy all the same. Thank you Yoga, thank you teachers, thank you students and thank you FOR THE BIG BIG SMILES AND THE COMMUNITY IT BRINGS 💫
💫 Resists urge to write ‘UK GUYS, NO QUARANTINE NEEDED’ 😐 Also resisted the urge to do a sea wee because this bikini is gorge. Thank you @billabongwomenseurope for the threads! 💫💙 Cornish friends reunited.com
TIME TO FLY! YOGA FOR PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND BRAIN GAIN! 💫💫💪I’m teaching a flow with @fatface this week to help promote co-ordination, balance, strength and focus (because lord knows we all need it now the world’s opening up again.) The brain is the main overseer of balance in the body, so working through postures that simultaneously root us down to the ground to rise us up, promotes greater neuroplasticity, offering pretty potent benefits to our lives once we’re off the mat. You can thank me later 😉 See you over on the @fatface page tomorrow evening at 7:30pm for a wriggle! 📷 @alexjameslondon
💫I’ve joined the @rahuabeauty family and I WAS NOT TAKING MYSELF SERIOUSLY IN THIS PHOTO😐 (disclaimer) *ahem Rainforest grown beauty and supporting the indigenous people of the Amazon and following their lead is something I’ve been passionate about as a journalist for almost a decade now, (hence running the around jungles like a nutter) So I’m very happy to be writing for the amazing people @rahuabeauty 💫💙Translating the Amazonian way of living to the western world somehow is something I’ve been trying to navigate for years, so this month I’ve penned everything you need to know from my studies as an Integrative health coach (and Amazonian oil fan girl) about why us homosapien earthlings, especially in the western world, are giving away our power far too easily. This imbalance is showing up in our hair, skin and eyes, and how balancing our masculine and feminine energies is so often over looked, but critical for our well-being. Have a ganders in the link up there yeah ⬆️ 📷 @surfsistas 💫...
💫💙 Professional lurking with some of the world’s most beautiful women, and constantly putting them off their jobs hasn’t done a great deal for my ego over the years, but I flipping love it all the same. BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL THESE MEGA BABES AND THE OTHER MEGA BABES I’VE MISSED ON HERE ... AND THAT’S ALL WOMEN. YOU’RE ALL MEGA BABES (yes I’m getting in there four days early with my International women’s day situation.) 😂💙💫
💫 HOW’S EVERYBODY DOING? Finding things tough? That’s because they are (I hate to break it to you 🤷♀️.) I’ve penned some tips on how to cope with these times with the lovely people @RadleyLondon, so head to their page for my mood boosting guide to staying sane through this corona-coaster.
If you’re struggling, just remember that the thinking mind loves to jump to worse case scenario to protect you from danger. Our brains are ancient devices that aren’t designed to keep you happy, they’re designed to make you survive. Here’s the good news, its not the negative thoughts themselves that might make you feel bad, it’s identification with them. It’s becoming them. Try to shift your perception of stress by looking at everything that’s good in your life. I’m not bypassing pain, grief and loss, these times are very raw and real and the inability to sit with these feelings instead of ‘living your best life ever in Dubai’ is a sure fire way to rob you of your joy in the long term. But just acknowledge your thinking mind and the physical sensations in the body that resonate with those thoughts, be the observer instead of becoming. Remember you’re not your thoughts or your feelings, you’re something much bigger than that. We want to find home within the body, within our core, and not battle against it. I expand on this and many more tips on keeping happy and healthy through this time with @radleylondon #ad #RadleyLondon 📷 @philly.stokes...
#AD SENDING YOU ALL A LOAD OF LOVE AND SMILES (behind my serious yoga face) BECAUSE WE NEED IT! If you didn’t catch it last week, I filmed a class with @fatface that works to get the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) turned off and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) activated. This helps with your digestion, lifts your mood, your ability to self regulate should improve and you might find you become more focused and less reactive, slipping us into that space in between stimulus and response (where all the magic happens! ) Bonus, we can do this from the comfort of our own homes, in our pyjamas, and ladies you can even forget about your bra if you feel like it 🤷♀️
.... side note, when this is all over I’m still living in my comfy threads. Who’s with me? #fatfacemoments 📷 @alexjameslondon...
💫What’s that? Sex and the City is making a return? And it’s my mum’s birth week this week? (She has a week.) Thought I’d use the opportunity to remind my mother that when I was being paid to talk to SJP about perfume, we used the time to talk about more pressing subjects like my mum’s Bon Jovi obsession, raising young women, and to slightly massage my own ego by filming this gem. 😂💫 Happy B day Mother! 💫🌙 AND WELCOME BACK SITC
💫The whole New Year thing. I’ll try to keep it brief, 😐 but there’s a real universal grievance right now and big old expectation hangovers happening left right and center, all whilst we’re hearing the words ‘Happy New Year’ being thrown around, so yeah, it’s ok to feel like the dumb/ confused Hyena in the Lion King who gets constantly hit across the head with a bat. We’re saying goodbye to people/dreams and accepting physical disconnection as a ‘new norm.’ We’ve covered our faces, so we can’t use non- verbal communication with each other, like smiling to a stranger, which in my experience speaks louder than any word you can say. We all love to take the driver’s seat playing the lead role in our own movies, we’re all told (often via Instagram, maybe with a back drop of a mountain and a van renovation thrown in for good measure 🤷♀️) that ‘a comfort zone is a great place to be, but nothing ever grows there.’ But for us all to be collectively thrown so far that our comfort zones are now dots in the distance isn’t something to be taken remotely lightly. We were never in control. So, moving into the New Year, I say go flipping easy. Meet yourself where you are. Don’t let the negatives from 2020 become part of your static identity by revisiting them in your head too much. There are so so many rays of light, actual gems in this equation, there’s order in the chaos, and there’s love by the bucket load if you look in the right places. We have a hugely strong compassionate instinct at our core, just like elephants, and that’s always given me huge amounts of faith in us homo sapien earthlings. Uncertainty can be terrifying, but it can give you freedom, and in my experience, to really live life to its full potential is a form of never really being sure. SO HELLO 2021 *treads very carefully....
💫Another trip around the sun being really unnecassarily vocal. Thank you for all the birthday love you gorge lot, from me and my new hash tag dry robe. Hash tag spon (it’s not really) And MERRY CHRISTMAS! KEEP IT MERRY AND BRIGHT! WE GOT THIS! 💫💪💙 Side note today I looked at the moon and thought it was the great conjunction 🤷♀️ was pretty blown away tbf. #wise...
💫Felt the need to leap frog onto a hay bale in some @bamboo_clothing threads to celebrate the fact that @kendalmountainfestival is around the corner! And yes I may have ran into said hay bale and face planted a few times but clearly my vanity out weighs my dignity 🤷♀️ Whose coming to the #nurturewell stage this weekend? I’ll be teaching an energising flow for you all, this Sunday, 7:30 am 💫🙏🏽...
HAPPY HORMONES! LET’S BOOST THEM! *resists urge to write LOCK DOWN 2.0 LET’S DO THIS. Oh look I just did 🤷♀️🙄
Small reminder that being positive has as much to do with your body as it has your brain. Our physiological signals are key in creating a positive feedback loop, and by linking movement to breath (and throwing in some victory arms for good measure) we’re literally boosting happy hormones and giving cortisol and adrenaline their marching orders. I would say we then pass this on to others we interact with once we’re off the mat but we’re not supposed to be interacting, but you get me. 🙄🤷♀️
Plus, now you have the added bonus of having the option to mute me at any point 🤐.... every cloud.
💫My last flow with actual real life humans for a month will be tomorrow morning at the Cowshed @_weareblessed ..... come and play! I’LL MISS YOU but I’ll see you all on Zoom in the mean time... and the good news is there you have the option to mute me. Every cloud 🤐 🤷♀️⭕️💫🌞 LET’S GIVE IT SOME VICTORY ARMS!! 🌞💫💪

💫Yup, I think it’s safe to say a few of us are thinking those people who opted for life on Mars might actually be on to something. (Just to clarify I’m not sat on a rock in Mars, wouldn’t have service and my Yoga face might be slightly distorted.) Personally I’ve never seen Great Britain looking more beautiful than it has in 2020, anyone else with me? (Bit cheesy but I went there) I think this year it’s important-especially for those who might be struggling with their mental health or with work or finances- to remember to try to learn to not let your beliefs block you and that maybe we should all try to live by our own, unique experiences. I think there’s a pre-prescribed idea of ‘success’ that people might be clinging onto, and the same things we get celebrated for have ironically been the same things that have burnt us out in the past. Being ‘busy’ does not equate to being productive and/or successful. In the past I’ve found it really disarming when I’ve met someone who’s ‘successful’ but isn’t defined by what they do, they focus on who they are, because who you are is as important as what you know, and who you be is as important as what you do 💫 Big shout out to all my lovely (and very brave) Yogis and wild, WILD cold water swimmers in Wales this week! My freezing cold legs that resembled that of a drunk chicken aside, It was amazing to see what the human body is capable of! BIG BIG LOVE TO YOU ALL! ✨💫 @bamboo_clothing 📷 @philly.stokes...
